Session Type: Symposium
Extra-curricular activities—and sports in particular—hold a significant place in both schools and society. The purpose of this symposium is to bring together a diverse group of panelists from various fields in education and sport to critically examine the past, present, and future research related to issues in K-12 education and interscholastic athletics. During this session, attendees will consider future possibilities for educational research through interactions with session chairs and panelists representing the following fields: teacher education, coaching education, social and cultural studies, urban studies, sport psychology, sport science, and interscholastic athletics.
