Interactive Groups: Interactive Classroom Learning Environments Improving Learning for All

Abstract
This symposium explores learning in Interactive Groups, an interactive learning environment that has demonstrated to improve the learning outcomes of diverse students. IG are small and heterogeneous groups of students where children solve problems with the support of adult volunteers and through peer interaction based on dialogue, The papers explore different dimensions of this innovative classroom practice which explain its excellent results in student achievement, paying particular attention to interactive aspects: a) solidarity-based interactions promoting learning and positive coexistence, b) dimensions and variables for the successful implementation of IG, c) the role of non-expert adults in dialogic learning, d) the benefits of including students with disabilities, and e) the development of children’s personal epistemology in interactive learning environments.
