Facing Current Issues in Urban Education: Race, Class, and Gender

Abstract
This symposium intends to address the current issues in Urban Education in light of race, class, and gender. The presenters will focus on how race, class, and gender intersect in the areas of higher education, public schools, teacher education/professional development, and literature. The analysis of the presenters will assist in understanding how research can impact the policy and practices in urban education and the above areas. They will engage, examine, discuss, and critically analyze how gender, race, and class impact the current issues in urban education.
