Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session seeks to bring together scholars working with different cultures across the world on issues related to culture, technology and learning. The session focuses on how technology can help science learning so as to forge a strong connection between community-based practices and science learning. The question that the session seeks to discuss is: How do current technology designs align themselves with the cultural epistemology of the learners across different cultures in the world?
The presentations will generate a much needed conversation on how new technologies provide opportunities to create learning environments that can enhance educational practices and empower local groups but also technologies may be disruptive if they are not suited to the context and culture of the learners.
