Abstract

This symposium will present various models of examining these issues and create a space where scholars, practitioners, and educational leaders may engage in thoughtful conversations about challenges and opportunities facing the higher education community in the US. Each paper utilizes strong theoretical foundations and careful attention to exploring notions of educational equity and justice by asking thoughtful questions about how one assesses college access and sucess programs. Participants will have a choice about which of the teams listed below they wish to spend the remaining session in conversation with to address: (a) future collaborations; (b) strategies for P-16 collaborations; and (c) using research designs with strong theoretical foundations and rigorous methods to respond to calls for accountability and student success.
