Abstract

This roundtable will examine issues and strategies associated with the development, implementation, and conduct of assessments of interprofessional education and work (IPEW). Presentations include a review of the literature on interprofessional education and assessment in the healthcare professions and two study results: one from a large scale six year collaborative program from the UK and a second relatively recent initiative in a US region. Although the presentations focus on research with healthcare professions, the audience will appraise general frameworks from reviewed assessment domains, tools, and collaborative innovations, which are beneficial for assessing across the professions. The interactive discussions with the audience will lend insights for further studies and practical implications for assessments in IPEW across professions.
