Bullying and teasing occur regularly in group early education settings, affecting children’s learning, physical health, social development, and emotional well-being. Two decades of research examined the causes and manifestations of teasing, bullying, intimidation, and harassment [HIBT] in child care centers and schools for young children. An anti-bullying program, researched and trialed intensively in the U.S. over 15 years by Hinitz and Friends (2004-2012), shows the strong possibility of being both a replicable practice and a policy change agent. This symposium highlights the diversification and expansion of the English language early childhood anti-HIBT program for children to include: Spanish language and bilingual classrooms, museum education, school program and curricular integration, and teacher education in two countries.
