This session presents a compilation of studies from an international large-scale assessment on civic and citizenship education. Contextual and explanatory factors on students civic knowledge such as socioeconomic status (SES), transmission and openness to discussion, invariance complex scales, and separate vs. integrated designs of the civic and citizenship education curriculum will be disseminated to the session participants. A wide range of sophisticated statistical analyses such as multivariate analysis of variance, structural equation modeling and multilevel modeling will be emphasized in the studies to accompany complex sampling design of the assessment across more than 30 education systems.
