Educational Research for Revealing Conflicts Derived From Different Ideologies in China

Abstract

Developing countries are facing the challenges of conflicting values and ideologies in the context of social transformation. In this session, we will take China’s example in order to understand the conflicts raised in indigenous educational reforms. The discussion covers a wide range of topics, including institutional arrangements, curriculum innovation, personal salary reform and ownership restructuring. For each topic we will analyze the conflicts from the development point of view, as conflicting ideologies are formulated in the institution evolution under the social context. In addition, these evidence-based studies could strengthen commonly shared beliefs, which will result in more rational education policies.
