It is well documented that students need to be able to monitor their cognitive states and processes to support learning. However, it is equally well documented that many students struggle to do so. There are a variety of ways to address this issue extant in the literature. In this paper session, the author will represent research that explores the use a variety of approaches that involve structuring the learning environment and/or strategy training.
