Abstract

Teaching, learning and research projects are presented here displaying the workings of cultural tension and power in the positions of learners in Mexico, faculty in Canada and researchers focusing globally. In these cases who the actors are, what they do and how they create outcomes demonstrate the working of legitimacy to challenge hegemony propelled by post-colonial analysis. The discussion in this session will focus on how post-colonial viewpoints support critique in each of these core academic functions.
