Abstract

As graduate students and scholars, we believe in the power of education research to inform innovation, practice, and policy. We also struggle to navigate the terrain of publishing, and find ourselves asking:

• What are various venues for publishing and contributing to the larger discourse of education research?
• What are the trade-off’s for publishing in various venues (e.g., journal, book, op-ed) and for various audiences (e.g., researchers, teachers, policy makers)?
• How do I transform a draft for publication to a given venue?

This Fireside Chat explores these questions through a panel discussion with scholars who will share their expertise. Participants have the opportunity to hear honest answers to their questions about what it takes to transform a draft into a publication.
