Abstract

Hannah M. Tavares will present on "Marriage, Motherhood, and Police: Securing Sexuality Through a Practical Education," exploring the ways in which Foucault's theories of the body and power-knowledge nexus intersect with and extend feminist theorizing, in particular poststructural feminism, into a conceptual space of critical complementarity. This talk is part of a larger discussion about how theorists and scholars are moving beyond Foucault in ways that are critical, effective, and necessary.
