Defending, Reforming and Transforming Teacher Education: The Future of Teacher Education in the United States

Abstract

The panel members in this session are well-known advocates of different perspectives on the future of teacher education in the U.S. They will discuss their views on the current state of teacher education in the U.S. and what they would like to see happen to improve the quality of the preparation of U.S. teachers. Each panel member will comment for 8-10 minutes on his or her own views and then the panel members will have an opportunity to respond to each other and to interact with the audience.
