Exploring Action Research Approaches in the Professional Development of Educators

Abstract
In this session four papers examining different approaches to establishing and extending the role of action research in educator professional development are presented. From school-district sponsored courses to virtual communities of practice to varying approaches to pre-service educator preparation, action research is being utilized in innovative ways to bridge the research-practice gap.
