Engaging Culture, Race, and Spirituality: New Visions

Abstract

If there is one issue that our current social and political climates have brought to the fore, it is that race is a permanent part of our daily lives. Whether in schools and social media, or in our research lives and practices, there is an always already on-going conversation we have within ourselves about the place of race in the work. Given the persistence of these matters in educational research, new visions of culture and race are necessary. This session gathers scholars who find critical possibility in our examinations about race, culture and diversity that lies in a concomitant examination in/on spirituality, on how engaging inner life might be radical intervention in our inquiries about how race matters in research.
