Organizational Theories in Practice: Using Case-Based Learning Methods for Leader Development

Abstract

Sponsored by the Organizational Theory SIG, this discussion-oriented session will highlight key organizational theories relevant to the development of educational leaders. Presenters will offer a series of varied case narratives from which students can better understand these theories through case-based learning. Discussants will reflect upon leadership as well as curriculum development using this approach. There will be ample opportunity for participants to engage with the presenters on the case-based teaching and learning of organizational theories in leadership preparation.
