Abstract

The TW/TU Business meeting will present an overview of the work developed by The Latino American Network for the Study of Teacher’s Work (RED ESTRADO). Over the last 13 years, this network has been a hub for the joint work of Latin American scholars, teacher union leaders, and schoolteachers. The network promotes research, reflection and study of the transformation of teacher’s work and teaching conditions in Latin America. This presentation will bring together members of the network from Argentina, Brazil, and Chile who will present some of the local and regional manifestations of the initiative. They will emphasize their struggles, victories, and tensions developed arising from their work. Also some of the future developments will be introduced.
