This descriptive study explored middle school band students’ (N = 291) perceptions of bullying behavior inside and outside of the school band classroom. Research questions were designed to generate data regarding the frequency of physical, verbal, and socially aggressive acts self-reported by middle school students enrolled in the band class, while in the band classroom and band-related activities as well as within the school setting. Results showed that participants reported low levels of aggression and victimization within the band classroom. The results of this study suggest that the overall aggression and victimization rates for adolescents enrolled in band are low; however, differences exist between how males and females experience these behaviors inside and outside the band classroom.
