Developing a Cross-Trajectory, Geographically Diverse, and Interdisciplinary Network on Gender, Social Justice, and Praxis

Abstract

The theoretical and methodological underpinnings of a new cross-trajectory, interdisciplinary, and geographically diverse network and the employment of this network to create critical pedagogical continuing professional development resources will be discussed. This network, comprised of seven partnerships of one experienced and one early/ier career academic, partnerships based on five continents and across multiple disciplines – aims to create innovative pedagogical resources both around the network’s core topics of gender and social justice and about experiences working in these unique partnerships, in order to reinvigorate higher education praxis on these topics, as well as directly and indirectly empower communities worldwide through an interwoven focus on university-community collaboration. This structure supports the network’s particular emphasis on building capacity of early career researchers.
