The Carnegie Project on the Educational Doctorate is a consortium of 88 schools of education working to reframe and redesign the EdD to be a more relevant degree for the advanced preparation of professionals. To achieve this, CPED is striving to create a Network Improvement Community (NIC) to support cadres of faculty, students and alumni across multiple institutions to work on problems of practice. However, despite efforts there have been challenges.
This session will provide results from a pilot study aimed at understanding participants’ perceptions of a CPED NIC. Data (root cause analysis and survey) were gathered from consortium members on two occasions and analyzed using a grounded approach. Findings reveal a desire for NICs and suggestions to overcome barriers.
