Programs that prepare doctoral students serve as primary learning environments for successive generations of science teacher educators. We use actor network theory to explore how a research project focused on designing and implementing a teacher professional learning framework and pedagogical model with a commitment to social justice guided the assembly of a network for exploring equity-oriented science teaching and teacher education. We present a series of three ANT-tales to explore how the actor-network of our Language-rich Inquiry Science with English Language Learners (LISELL) project re-assembled our understanding of social justice oriented teacher professional learning. This work highlights the need to reframe the designed environments for science teacher-educator preparation as collaborative work among faculty, graduate students, and practicing teachers.
