Abstract

In keeping with the larger theme of AERA centered on justice, and considering, more narrowly, the ways in which queer theories can contribute to different (perhaps deeper; perhaps more whimsical, not to say unserious) understandings of the uses and possibilities for justice in schooling, we endeavor in this paper to engage the question of liking in education (Authors). To do so, we seek to re-consider the tense relations and histories between queer sexualities and religions. In other words, how does the idea of “liking” help us do justice to both the work religion and sexuality do for students and teachers in caring for themselves.
