Abstract

Two university-based teacher educators, serving as facilitators of work with and within a Native American Pueblo public school district, share findings from a year-long self-study of their practices to better understand the tensions, intricacies, and tensions faced as outsider teacher educators in a partnership context.Better understanding of the ways in which the values of the teacher educators were enacted led to a embracing duality and to changes within the university and program structures relating to cultural responsiveness.
