The Complexities of Curriculum History and the Use of Cooperative Studies as a Source

Sat, April 18, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Swissotel, Floor: Lucerne Level, Lucerne II

Abstract

This presentation reflects on the dearth of histories of the undergraduate curriculum by identifying two complexities related to how scholars have conducted documentary research and dealt with life histories while studying the undergraduate curriculum. Conducting documentary research on curricular cooperative studies and chronicling the lives of their participants, this presentation contends, can provide a variety of evidentiary considerations and the lenses by which to represent the complex experience of historical curriculum formation and reform.
