Although many studies on data-based decision making (DBDM) foreground the importance of teacher collaboration, our knowledge on what such collaboration looks like and how such collaboration may be influenced during a DBDM-professional development intervention, remains limited. The current study uses a social network perspective to explore how teachers’ social networks in 32 Dutch elementary schools take shape in the interactions among teachers as they engage in a DBDM intervention. Our findings suggest that teachers’ DBDM-related networks change during the intervention, especially regarding discussing student achievement data: although the number of relationships in the networks remains stable, more reciprocal relationships are formed, and the networks become less centralized around one or a few influential school staff members.
