Educational segregation in the Chilean neoliberal milieu has had as a consequence, among others, the belief that children have no interest or competences as political agents. With a participatory action research framework, our research team is working with “vulnerable” children of 8th grade from a discursive critical perspective, trying to give them some tools to become competent critical analysts of their worlds. The first aim of our study is to know their political positions and critical competences through a Social Identities Game, based in Chilean school system (voucher system with 3 types of schools: municipal, subsidized private and private) which had process and content outcomes that reflected the critical competences among the children to understand their and others social positions.
