Abstract

This study’s purpose was to examine change in students’ science and mathematics achievement and teachers’ instructional performance in a Catholic elementary school, engaging in inclusive STEM education. This descriptive research used quantitative data. To answer the question about the science and mathematics achievement of students, data from the Terra Nova Multi-Measure Standardized Test, and student grades were compared from 2011 to 2013. The data to answer the second research question about the teachers’ instructional performance were obtained from the Teacher Formative Evaluation and the STEM Program Evaluation. The data demonstrated academic growth in mathematics and some growth in science. The data demonstrated some growth for the teachers in instructional performance after the implementation of STEM education. Causal relationships can’t be determined.
