The purpose of this paper is to disseminate the findings of a study in which Ohio teachers were asked their perceptions of the new Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) through a twenty-five question Likert-based questionnaire with four open-ended response questions. More than 3,380 teachers completed the questionnaire in which they reported through their question responses and 2,895 comments that they are relatively confident in their understanding of the OTES, their ability to be successful on the OTES, and even their administrator’s ability to conduct the OTES to evaluate them. However, the teachers reported high levels of skepticism that the OTES will improve the teaching and learning for their students.
