Authors of this paper session present the major features, impacts, and research of the initial phase of a collaborative, school-college grant project entitled Career Ladder Innovator Programs and System (CLIPS). The project is supported with the State’s Race to the Top funds for strengthening teacher and principal effectiveness. CLIPS professional development training workshops and course experiences are conducted to prepare educators in a team approach for newer leadership positions on the career ladders. The work has significance in that it has implications for changing the teaching landscape and promoting more innovative research collaborations between schools and colleges for improving the education workforce.
