This paper presents findings from a study that examined to what extent middle school teachers acquired TPACK upon completion of an inquiry-based professional development workshop designed around Cambourne’s Seven Conditions for Learning, which researchers posit can serve as a model for teachers’ TPACK acquisition and application. The study further examined how Cambourne’s Conditions for Learning, in turn, were represented in the teachers’ own lesson plans and lessons. Data included pre- and post-workshop TPACK surveys, video recordings and materials from workshop sessions, teachers’ lesson plans and lessons, interviews, and a presentation during which teachers shared their lesson designs with colleagues. Preliminary findings reveal Cambourne’s conditions to be a meaningful framework with which to develop teachers’ TPACK acquisition and application.
