Toward Resonance: A New Approach of Aesthetic Inquiry in Curriculum Studies

Mon, April 20, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Hyatt, Floor: East Tower - Gold Level, Grand CD

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to state a perspective of Resonance for aesthetic inquiry in curriculum studies different from the traditional approaches of “curriculum as artifacts” and “art- form creation” which might ignore human’s feeling, interactions in-between teachers and students, and divides the researchers and what they research as dualism. Besides, the ideas of Resonance will be applied as frameworks, including three dimensions of Sensus-communis, Synergy, and Reflexivity, for an extended case study research. Findings include as follows: 1.Sensus-communis embodied Resonance as the montage of bodily-images. 2. Synergy symbolizes Resonance as a heteroglossia of extemporized music. 3. Reflexivity discloses Resonance through responses to the call from strangers.
