Abstract

Education Policy Studies recognizes the importance of addressing social problems and large societal issues related to race and ethnicity. An important component of Education Policy Studies must be a focus on social justice. Addressing issues of social justice requires the use of tools, theories, and methods from multiple disciplines. This article offers transdisciplinarity, and its accompanying tool, the Transdisciplinary Applied Social Justice model, as a contribution to Education Policy Studies. The model’s flexibility enables it to be used to analyze historical events, as well as current social dynamics. Most importantly, it informs how issues of inequality and social justice can be addressed to create transformative change in society.
