This paper summarizes the results of a research study aimed at measuring the voice of the students on the design quality of their courses. Using the Quality Matters (QM) framework, students were asked to indicate the level of importance for each QM-based statement for courses in general. Results of this study extend the work of Ralston-Berg (2014), suggesting that quality as defined by QM is applicable to online as well as traditional course formats. A ranking of QM-based statements as valued by students is presented. Further analysis indicates specific areas where there are significant differences between student ratings and those of QM.
