Abstract

College access is a documented problem for socio-historically underrepresented students of color. This theoretical analysis explores how race/ethnicity, community, and culture affect college access as a cultural capital. I will review college access research using a critical race theory lens to analyze the cultural and community context of college access. The implications of this paper will build upon college access conceptual frameworks to show the need for on-going research.
