This paper describes the preliminary results of a study that brought preservice students from a reading methods course together with students in an introductory educational technology around an authentic literacy task. Students in the technology course designed a mixed media eBook focused on using mobile device applications in the language arts classroom. Students in the reading methods course were invited to be collaborative authors on the project. The completed book was then accessed as a resource for the students in the methods course when they designed lesson plans for their field experience. The preliminary results indicate that students perceived changes in their technological, pedagogical, and literacy knowledge upon completion of the project.
