The goal of this paper is to analyze survey data from Wisconsin school counselors on how their roles have been impacted by recent state and federal initiatives focusing on Multitier Systems of Support (MTSS), such as Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS). In this paper, we explore the impact of MTSS on the role of the school counselor. First, we seek to identify the extent to which school counselors prescribe to different comprehensive school counseling models. Second, we examine patterns, looking to individual-, and school-level predictors of MTSS implementation within schools in Wisconsin. One hundred forty seven counselors responded indicating both positive and negative outcomes on their role as a result of from MTSS implementation.
