This paper offers a critical perspective on the politics of inclusion and exclusion emerging from a collaborative project on monitoring educational rights for girls with disabilities in the context of Vietnamese education. It aims to offer a methodological perspective for thinking and engaging with girls with disabilities in Southern contexts in the context of globalization. Using participatory approaches and tools as ways of constructing stories and engaging with local communities, we suggest the need to reconstruct local knowledge that reflects the intersection between disability and gender in education through a critical theoretical and methodological framework that values the experiences of girls with disabilities in the Global South.
