There have been a limited number of papers published in peer-reviewed journals in the field of IRT equating testlet-based tests using a testlet model. In this study, theta equating for testlet-based tests will be investigated under the NEAT design for the Rasch testlet model (Wang & Wilson, 2005b) with two equating approaches; concurrent calibration and fixed anchor methods. A simulation study will be conducted to evaluate the equating approaches for the testlet model with respect to the estimates of population parameters as well as item parameters on a new form. The parameter recovery for the testlet model equating approaches is also compared with that for a conventional Rasch model (Rasch, 1960) as an evaluation criterion.
