Teachers consistently respond with enthusiasm and enjoyment for their careers, their schools, and above all their students. The recent release of the TALIS 2013 results and similar American-based teacher focused surveys indicate teachers enjoy the profession but see ways to improve it. In particular, teachers resoundingly note the need for improved professional development aligned to their appraisals and connected to student assessments. The present study examines the views of over 10,000 teachers from across 350 schools to understand their views about implementing TAP™: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement, which provides locally created professional development and building capacity at the local school site. Results of the study showcase the positive perspective of teachers when local capacity is built.
