School-business partnerships provide many and varied benefits which include increasing school capacity and enhancing educational experiences for students. There are, however, limited sources of information which demonstrate the priorities and perspective of for-profit business in those partnerships. This research seeks to fill this gap by exploring what an effective school-business partnership looks like from the perspective of business leaders in two diverse areas of Texas. It is belief of the authors that the knowledge gained from this research will support the ability of school leaders at the campus and district levels to engage community businesses in meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships that will ultimately support effective instruction on the campus level.
