This paper is examines social justice leadership beliefs and practices of principals and teachers in Costa Rica and Mexico with particular attention to culture, language and heritage. It is part of the International Study of Leadership Development Network (ISLDN). The intent is to examine how leaders express their views about social justice and how they turn their beliefs into action in two different contexts in Latin America. Despite distinct histories, geographies, and cultural contexts, these educational leaders had common concerns about social justice. They were committed to using education as a way to challenge inequities, and their ultimate goal was to create equity for the benefit of all citizens.
