This study examined the relation between instructors’ perceptions of students’ academic entitlement and their enjoyment in teaching and the mediating effects of instructors’ perceptions of students’ enthusiasm and perceptions of students’ motivation for affiliation with teachers on the relationship between perceptions of students’ academic entitlement and their enjoyment in teaching.
118 instructors at a university participated in the study. The results of correlation and regression analyses indicated a significant negative relationship between teachers’ perceptions of students’ academic entitlement and their enjoyment in teaching as well as the mediating effects of teachers’ perceptions of students’ enthusiasm and perceptions of students’ motivation for affiliation with teachers on the relationship between perceptions of students’ academic entitlement and enjoyment in teaching.
