A curriculum and face-to-face institute were revised as a second iteration of design for an intervention aimed at developing teams of middle school leaders’ instructional leadership practices that promote math and science teachers’ technology integration. Learning from a pilot, this design engaged the whole team earlier and more deeply, for example through school-based data, role-playing, scaffolds, and work time. The extent and depth of teams’ plans for new post-institute technology leadership practice were compared to a baseline survey of teachers’ perceptions of technology leadership practices. The cross-case analysis provides insight into the experiential learning and supports leaders need to engage in instructional leadership, and provides foundational knowledge needed for the further study of developing leaders’ team-based instructional leadership.
