Globalization is changing the landscape of our schools and the demands placed on teachers. Teachers are now faced with the dual task of teaching an increasingly diverse student population and instilling in all students global competencies. However, few studies explore global competence in content areas that do not lend themselves to studies of the world, such as Social Studies and World Languages. Therefore, we conducted a multiple case study to examine signature pedagogical practices for globally competency in unexpected subject areas. The teachers in this study exemplified how globally competent teaching can be operationalized in classrooms across content areas, illuminating how teachers can feasibly integrate globally competent teaching practices. Findings revealed commonalities across content areas regarding their globally competent practices.
