Abstract

This study aimed to verify structural relationships between factors influencing learner’s satisfaction on the use of digital textbook. Specifically, self-efficacy on the digital textbook, the quality of digital textbook, and self-directed learning are suggested as critical factors affecting learner satisfaction. The study employed structural equation modeling in order to examine the causal relationships among the variables, and the data from 329 Korean middle school students who studied using digital textbooks for science class. The results indicated that digital textbook self-efficacy and digital textbook quality had significant effects on self-directed learning. Also, digital textbook self-efficacy and digital textbook quality showed a significant effect on satisfaction, while self-directed learning did not. Discussion on implications will be elaborated in the presentation.
