Sociologists and education scholars argue that talk and practice about bullying and anti-bullying efforts in U.S. schools helps produce school climates where queerness is only recognized in the context of bodily harm, threat, and as objects of health interventions. Utilizing a story-telling project, the authors will examine what happens when broader understandings of LGBTQ sexualities and lives are welcomed in the very culture of schools.
