The House-Tree-Person (HTP) test with Haitian children was administered in the 2010 earthquake’s aftermath measuring resilience and vulnerability. This study uses generalizability theory to estimate sources of measurement error. These results will then be used for a decision study to determine the optimal study design, with respect to the raters and items that minimize error for the 2014 administration HTP in Haiti. The HTP, without the language barriers of many instruments, has been shown to be effective in assessing children in an international setting. With evidence of generalizability, we hope to demonstrate its effectiveness as a test for children in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, easily administered and scored by relief workers who can quickly assess children for interventions.
