Abstract

As the charter movement continues to grow there is an increasing need to further understand charter school leadership, made more pressing by the important link between leadership and student learning (Leithwood et al., 2004; Leithwood & Wahlstrom, 2008). This paper provides an exemplary literature review (Boote & Beile, 2005) examining the current literature on charter school leadership. The author finds that little research applies what is known about school leadership theory to charter school leadership.
