This multi-site case study explores the impact of the Association of American Colleges and Universities’ Developing a Community College Student Roadmap: From Entrance to Engagement in Educational Achievement and Success project and its theory of action at twelve participating community colleges. Researchers have identified a number of emerging themes highlighting assets to successful implementation in multiple contexts originating in both the theory of action and in environmental characteristics. These models provide promising practices for mobilizing institutional change efforts, leveraging cross-divisional collaboration, authentic learning assessment, high-impact practices, and program integration. This study provides an opportunity to learn about the implementation of a theory of action for organizational change that focuses simultaneously on student learning and completion at the community college.
